MacLean Holloway Doherty & Sheehan, P.C. is a distinguished, full-service law firm located in Peabody, Massachusetts that offers a broad range of services to both individuals and businesses. We are currently seeking a motivated Real Estate and Corporate Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing transactions, and conducting legal research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Real Estate Transactions: Acquisition and disposition of residential and commercial properties, including drafting and reviewing purchase and sale agreements, notes, mortgages, deeds, leases, affidavits, closing documents, and settlement statements
  • Title & Survey Review: Order and examine title, surveys, MLCs, and other due diligence items; resolve title defects, tenant issues, and final walk-through concerns
  • Closings & Post-Closing: Draft title insurance policies; oversee disbursements and wire transfers; and produce closing binders and submit government filings
  • Corporate Governance: Draft and file formation documents for LLCs, corporations, and partnerships; obtain EINs, secure S corp status, and maintain corporate records
  • Regulatory Filings: UCC filings, Department of Revenue and IRS submissions, and annual reporting
  • Administrative Support: Provide backup coverage to other paralegals (probate, estate administration); conduct conflict checks; maintain databases; and review client billing statements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate (ABA-approved preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on real estate and corporate law
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions, including title review, property law, and lease agreements
  • Familiarity with corporate structures, governance, and legal documentation
  • Proficiency in legal research, document management, and office software (Microsoft Office, case management systems, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
